Welcome to WikiProject Geelong! This WikiProject aims primarily to create, fill out, build, edit, construct, and modify articles about the city of Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

• Dec 15: Virginia Bell was appointed as a Puisne Justice of the High Court of Australia, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Justice Michael Kirby, the appointment to take effect from 3 February 2009.
• Dec 15: Prime Minister Kevin Rudd launched the white paper on Australia's proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, including setting a target of a 5 to 15 per cent greenhouse gas emission reduction from 2000 levels by 2020.
• Dec 3: The Old Perth Fire Station is permanently listed on the Western Australian Heritage register.
• Nov 4: The Bart Cummings trained thoroughbred Viewed, ridden by Blake Shinn, won the 2008 Melbourne Cup
• Oct 31: The Jon Stanhope-led Labor Party retains power with support from the Greens who gained the balance of power at the 2008 Australian Capital Territory general election.
• Oct 5: The Manly Sea Eagles defeat the Melbourne Storm in the 2008 NRL Grand Final, 40–0.
• Sep 27: The Hawthorn Football Club defeat the Geelong Football Club in the 2008 AFL Grand Final, 115–89.
