KKCO channel 11 is an NBC affiliate in the Grand Junction/Montrose, Colorado market. KKCO is the highest-rated news station in its market, ahead of competitors KJCT and KREX-TV, with newscasts that many claim have the look and feel of Denver stations.
KKCO signed on in 1996; prior to then NBC had been available by way of off-hours clearance on KREX, as well as on cable from Denver stations (KCNC-TV prior to 1995 and KUSA-TV from 1995 to 1996). KKCO Was owned by Eagle III Broadcasting L.L.C. from 1996-2005.

In September 2006, its DT2 subcarrier became the area's new affiliate for The CW Television Network. However, despite The CW being available locally by local broadcasters, Denver's KWGN-TV, the CW affiliate for that city, is still available in Grand Junction through two low-powered repeaters in the area. Sometime in late 2008 KKCO-DT Dropped the CW affiliation when KJCT-TV Picked up the CW.
